This collection of porcelain bear figurines was created by English artist and illustrator Carol Lawson. The collection consists of a group of wealthy Edwardian dressed bears known as the Bosworth family (the Upstairs Bears). They are taken care of by their trustworthy servants (the Downstairs Bears) who are dressed in appropriately stationed, period attire. A majority of the bears are mounted on a mahogany base and each have a small booklet that tells the story of each figure.

Each figurine has a bottom stamp that includes the collection and Department 56 logo, the piece’s name, and the scripted signature of Carol Lawson. “Henrietta’s Tea Party”, was released as the only Hand Numbered Limited Edition piece, consisting of 5,600 pieces.

The collection also consists of a number of mahogany furnishings that allows for the posing and displaying of the figures.
